Altun Ha Wildlife Tour to Baboon Sanctuary (Full Day)

On a boat cruise from San Pedro Town to and through the Belize River, you will travel approximately 24 miles from Belize City to Bermuda Landing.  Along the way you will pass through several villages by the river valley.

Bermuda Landing, also known as the Baboon Sanctuary, is home of the howler monkey.  Howler monkey families watch as you travel up river through the savannah while iguanas, known locally as bamboo chicken, sun themselves along the river.  View monkeys, iguanas, birds, and crocodiles up close and personal on this river adventure.  You can even greet the howler monkeys with a hand shake or a mild caress.

Then you will explore Altun Ha, the first Mayan site to be discovered in Belize, and on this tour, you will get to see first hand the gorgeous landscaping, genius ancient architecture, and Belize’s famous and ornately carved Jade Head of Kinich Ahau, the Mayan Sun God.

Climb the steps of the largest of Altun Ha’s temple-pyramids, the “Temple of the Masonry Altars”, which is 54 feet (16 m) high and is preserved on the logo of Belikin, Belize’s leading brand of beer.

Included is a light breakfast, lunch, soft drinks, beers, rum punch, purified water, and the park fee at the site.

Entrance fee $5.00 US not included
